Preparation for the Work Place Programme

Session One:

8.10 – 10.10   Tutor Groups (TBC) (approx. TBC students) in the Main Hall

Students seated in non-friendship groups of 6 per table.

Each group to undertake the following activities for example:

Introduction to programme including Aims and Objectives in main venue 

Importance of First Impressions

  • First Impressions Last
  • Interactive Group Session

Employability/Transferable Life Skills

  • Identifying key employability skills
  • Employers Expectations

Reading & Understanding the Job Description

  • Job Description provided for Interview Purpose
  • Identify the most important skills for the role

 

Recap Session on C.Vs

  • CV Best Practice
  • Critique a poor CV

 

Interview Preparation

  • Interview Techniques/Body Language
  • Answer the question “Tell me about yourself”
  • Interview Questions

10.10 – 10.30 Break

10.30 – Interviews commence in the SPORTS HALL for Tutor Groups TBC

TBC have returned to their lessons and will attend an interview at the time below, following the interview, students will return to their lessons:

11.00 -   Tutor Group                                      

11.30 -   Tutor Group  

12.00 -   Tutor Group  

12.30 – 12.50 LUNCH

  • Groups TBC return to their normal lessons

Session Two:

 12.50 – Second round of interviews to commence in the SPORTS HALL for Tutor Groups TBC

Groups TBC have returned to their lessons and will attend an interview at the time below, following the interview students will return to their lessons:

12.50 - Tutor Group

13.10 - Tutor Group

13.25 - Tutor Group

13.45pm – WHOLE OF YEAR 11 TO ATTEND FEEDBACK SESSION AND AWARDS  

Students will be asked to make their way to the Main Hall from 1.35pm 

14.00pm Evaluations       

14.10pm Close

 

Year 11 Parents Evening                 

On Thursday  January we are holding our Year 11 Parents Evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The evening will provide parents with an opportunity to discuss their child's progress with their subject teachers. At this important stage of students' education, parents attendance to this parents' evening is crucial. We will also have a Careers Adviser present who will be able to offer advice on any careers questions and guidance on suitable courses and options post 16.

To have a focused approach to GCSE choices in the Spring Term, we have decided to move the Year 9 Options Evening (originally scheduled for to  12th January 2018 (6.30 – 8.00 pm).
